We want to welcome you to Poppyseed Market, North Raleigh’s Gourmet Deli located conveniently in the Harvest Oaks Plaza on Leadmine Road.
You will want to linger over your sandwich, salad or entree at Poppyseed Market, where a passionate family involvement with good food and wine, along with a color scheme of poppy red and burnt sienna brings on thoughts of Tuscany.
Owner Julia McGovern named the market after her Grandfather, Poppy. The deli shows the efforts of Julia’s entire family and many of her friends, and by doing so, seems to embrace Raleigh.
Julia uses family recipes to create such comfort foods as “Granny’s Mac ‘n Cheese,” her mother’s own “Butternut Squash Lasagna,” and the biggest “Twice Baked Potatoes” you’ve ever seen. Her homemade mouth-watering cookies sell out quickly.
In 2006, Julia appeared on the Food Network's “Iron Chef America” as sous chef to winning Chef Walter Royal of the Angus Barn Restaurant.
The market sells many gourmet food products and gift items. They can put together a Gourmet Gift basket for your special occasion.
Put some of Chef Julia’s good food and welcoming spirit into your day at Poppyseed Market.
